At its core, State Fair is a story about vegetarians versus rednecks, but there is more going on under the surface. The book blends social commentary with humor and the supernatural to tell one of the most far out stories this reviewer has ever read. This first issue introduces the major characters, establishes their motivations, and sets up for the next 6 or 7 issues of the series.

 

The art is psychedelic, grotesque, and incredibly detailed; there is a lot of action taking place in each of the individual panels. The character designs are also phenomenal.
